Fiddler on the Roof

A man in a modern red parka stands on a bare stage reading from a book, and the village of Anatevka gathers around him. There the poor milkman Tevye talks to God, juggles his customers and his wife Golde, and watches his eldest daughters turn away from the matchmaker to choose husbands for themselves, while news of trouble creeps closer.
