Hamlet

In a gilded modern Elsinore of frescoed halls and guards in dress uniform, the king is dead and his brother Claudius has taken the throne and married Queen Gertrude before the mourning is over. Prince Hamlet, at odds with the whole glittering court, hears from his father's ghost that the death was murder. Surrounded by spies, he puts on a mask of madness and turns a visiting company of actors into a trap for the king's conscience.
