Hamlet

In a sleek modern Elsinore of black mirrored floors, glittering chandeliers and watchful eyes, Claudius has seized his dead brother's crown and married his widow, and the court is expected to smile along. Hamlet, a grieving student in T-shirt and parka, is told by his father's ghost that Claudius poisoned him. Watched on every side, the prince plays the madman, baits the king's spies and uses a company of visiting actors to catch out his uncle's guilt.
