Driftwood

Set in 1950s Port of Spain, Driftwood is Martina Laird's debut play, staged first at the RSC's The Other Place in 2026 and later at the Kiln Theatre. Against the charged backdrop of colonial Trinidad on the eve of political change, the story centres on Alma, a drinking den and gentlemen's club where family loyalties, class tensions and old power structures are all under strain.
