Jesus Christ Superstar

Among the ruins of something between a derelict colosseum and a catacomb, lit by gas jets and hemmed in by grilles, a restless band of followers gathers around Jesus of Nazareth. Judas Iscariot watches the movement he helped build turn into a cult of personality and fears where it will lead, as the priests close in and Mary Magdalene tries to steady a man near breaking point.
