Evita

In the dusty towns and dance halls of provincial Argentina, the young Eva Duarte hitches her future to a tango singer and follows him to Buenos Aires. Through the city's clubs, radio studios and society salons she trades up, one man and one opportunity at a time, until she meets Colonel Juan Perón and the two of them ride a wave of working-class fury towards the presidential balcony. Che, a wry and disillusioned onlooker, picks apart the saintly image forming around her.
