Once on This Island

On a Caribbean island battered by a hurricane, villagers comfort a frightened little girl with a story. Ti Moune, a peasant girl in the French Antilles, falls in love with Daniel, a wealthy young man from across the island, and to save his life she strikes a bargain with the gods, setting out on a journey that tests love against the divides of class and colour.
