Once on This Island

On a stormy night on a Caribbean island, villagers comfort a frightened child with the tale of Ti Moune, an orphaned peasant girl saved from a flood by the gods. Grown up, she nurses Daniel, a wealthy young man from the other side of the island, after his car crashes, and falls in love. When the gods wager on whether love or death is stronger, Ti Moune sets out to find him, whatever the cost.
