Kim's Convenience is a heartwarming comedy set in a small family-run Korean convenience store in Toronto's Regent Park neighbourhood. Mr. Kim, a first-generation Korean immigrant who has built his business from nothing over thirty years, faces a crossroads when a developer offers to buy his store as the neighbourhood undergoes gentrification and a Walmart threatens to move in. His adult daughter Janet works in the store but dreams of becoming a professional photographer, whilst his son Jung ran away from home years ago after a violent confrontation with his father, leaving a painful rift between them.
