King John

In the candlelit Sam Wanamaker Playhouse, England has just lost its most beloved king. Richard the Lionheart is dead and his younger brother John has the crown, but not everyone accepts his claim. France backs the boy Prince Arthur, urged on by his fierce mother Constance, and England goes to war, while John's illegitimate nephew, the Bastard Faulconbridge, mocks the politics he serves. Desperate to step out of his brother's shadow, John will go to any lengths to keep his throne.
