Mack and Mabel

Mack and Mabel is Jerry Herman and Michael Stewart’s musical portrait of the uneasy romance between silent-film director Mack Sennett and actress Mabel Normand. Set against the fast-moving world of early Hollywood, the show traces Mabel’s rise from sandwich delivery girl to screen star, and the way her relationship with Mack becomes bound up with the making of his films and his own ambitions.
