The Children

Hazel and Robin, retired nuclear engineers in their sixties, are living in a small cottage on the English coast after an accident at the nearby power station where they used to work. Electricity is rationed, the water is suspect and the world beyond the exclusion zone is uncertain. Then Rose, an old colleague who has been out of touch for decades, appears in their kitchen, stirring up old rivalries, old feelings and a proposal that none of them can ignore.
