When It Happens to You

On an almost bare stage, a mother named Tara turns to the audience and goes back to the night her family's ordinary life was shattered, when an intruder assaulted her adult daughter, Esme, in her own home in New York. Over the year that follows, Tara tries to hold everyone together and restore some sense of safety, as she, Esme, her son Connor and her partner Ethan each live with the aftermath in their own way, including their dealings with the police.
