The Shadow of a Gunman

Sean O'Casey's The Shadow of a Gunman is set in a Dublin tenement during the Irish War of Independence. It centres on Donal Davoren, a poet whose quiet lodgings are thrown into confusion when neighbours mistake him for an IRA gunman, while his room-mate Seumas Shields tries to make sense of the rumours, bluster and fear around them.
