The Nutcracker

Drosselmeyer, a magician and maker of mechanical toys, once built a trap that killed half the mice in a royal palace. In revenge the Queen of the Mice turned his nephew, Hans-Peter, into a Nutcracker doll. Only a brave deed and a girl's care can break the spell, so at a Christmas party he gives the doll to young Clara. That night she creeps downstairs to find it, and the living room becomes a battlefield of toy soldiers and mice.
