Miss Nightingale is a British musical with book, music and lyrics by Matthew Bugg, set in a London nightclub in 1942. Maggie Brown, a nurse who dreams of becoming a singer, and her friend George, a Jewish refugee songwriter, are booked by Sir Frank Worthington-Blythe, a wealthy socialite and war hero, and Maggie becomes the saucy star 'Miss Nightingale'. As her fame grows, the secret love affair between George and Frank, illegal at the time, leaves them open to blackmail. Mixing bawdy music-hall and cabaret numbers with romantic dram.
