Carousel

Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II’s second collaboration, Carousel is adapted from Ferenc Molnár’s 1909 play *Liliom*. Set on the coast of Maine, it follows carousel barker Billy Bigelow and millworker Julie Jordan, whose romance quickly draws them into hardship. Alongside their story runs the quieter courtship of Carrie Pipperidge and the ambitious fisherman Enoch Snow, creating a portrait of working-class life shaped by love, ambition and disappointment.
