Music Leonard Bernstein·Lyrics Betty Comden and Adolph Green
On the Town is Leonard Bernstein's wartime musical about three American sailors with 24 hours of leave in New York City. As Gabey, Chip and Ozzie each set off on his own adventure, the city becomes a whirlwind of chance encounters, comic detours and romantic possibilities, from a subway poster of Miss Turnstiles to a taxi driver's determined pursuit and an unexpected meeting with an anthropologist.
