A Little Life

Four college friends move to New York to make their lives: Willem, a kind and handsome actor; JB, a sharp-tongued painter; Malcolm, an architect; and Jude, a brilliant lawyer who tells them almost nothing about his past. As the decades pass and success arrives, their love for Jude holds the group together, even as his body fails him and he harms himself in secret. Piece by piece the play uncovers the abuse he suffered as a child and afterwards, and asks whether the devotion of those around him can be enough.
