Dead Man Walking

An American opera by Jake Heggie and Terrence McNally, Dead Man Walking is based on Sister Helen Prejean's memoir and follows a nun who becomes the spiritual advisor to a death-row inmate. As she walks alongside him and the victims' families, the story examines faith, mercy, responsibility and the human cost of capital punishment.
