In 1595, playwright brothers Nick and Nigel Bottom struggle to compete with the celebrated William Shakespeare. When Nick consults a soothsayer for the next theatrical sensation, the brothers set out to create something audiences have never seen before: a musical. Elizabethan rivalries meet anachronistic jokes, show-business satire and affectionate send-ups of musical theatre.
