Book Joan Santacreu
Mulïer is a wordless street dance piece performed on stilts by five women, created by Cia. Maduixa, the company Joan Santacreu founded in Sueca, Valencia, in 2004. Conceived and directed by Santacreu, with choreographic direction by Mamen García and music by Damián Sánchez, it tests the limits between dance and balance, movement and poetry, strength and emotion, exploring female identity through physical play and visual imagery. It is a tribute to women who, through centuries of oppression, have fought to keep their wild selves alive and to claim the right to dance and run freely through the streets.
