For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide / When the Rainbow Is Enuf

Five women step into a bare, dark space, each known only by a colour. Lady in Red, Lady in Blue, Lady in Brown and the others take turns to speak: about a childhood hero, a graduation night that went wrong, a lover who took their things and will not hand them back. The stories begin with first crushes and dance floors and move through rape, abortion and violence before the women finally gather and hold one another up.
