The Mikado

Gilbert and Sullivan's comic operetta is set in the fictional Japanese town of Titipu, where a web of engagements, mistaken identities and absurdly enforced laws against flirtation set the town tumbling into farce. When romance, public duty and local custom collide, the result is a brisk chain of complications driven by wit and musical invention.
