Dario Fo’s farce follows a group of working-class women who, driven by spiralling prices, take part in a spontaneous supermarket raid and then must find increasingly elaborate ways to conceal the goods. What begins as a comic act of rebellion quickly snowballs into domestic confusion, as husbands, neighbours and the authorities become entangled in the deception.
