Why We Took the Car

Based on Wolfgang Herrndorf's novel, Why We Took the Car follows Maik Klingenberg, a quiet and isolated teenager, and Tschick, his unpredictable new classmate, as they set off on an improvised road trip across Germany. What begins as a reckless escape becomes a series of strange, comic and revealing encounters that test their friendship and push them towards a sharper sense of who they are.
