Dreamgirls

Dreamgirls is a musical inspired by the rise of Motown and R&B acts such as The Supremes and The Shirelles. It follows a young Black female singing trio from Chicago, the Dreamettes, who become the Dreams as they are pushed towards stardom by manager Curtis Taylor Jr. Along the way, the group faces shifting loyalties, changing commercial expectations and the personal cost of fame.
