42 Balloons

42 Balloons is a rock opera musical by Jack Godfrey, inspired by the true story of Larry Walters, a truck driver who became an unlikely figure in American folklore after building a lawn chair flight using 42 weather balloons. Set against the backdrop of 1982, it follows a man whose improbable dream takes him far beyond anything he expected, mixing humour, wonder and the practical realities behind the stunt.
