The Last Five Years

The Last Five Years is Jason Robert Brown’s musical portrait of a five-year relationship between Jamie Wellerstein, a rising novelist, and Cathy Hiatt, a struggling actress. Told through two opposing timelines, Jamie’s story moves forwards while Cathy’s unfolds in reverse, bringing their experiences into sharp contrast as the piece traces the early promise and gradual strain of their marriage.
