Ceilidh

On the floor of a Scottish dance hall, Ramsay MacLavaney sets out to tell the story of his father, Leo, the finest caller in a long line of MacLavaney callers who have kept the ceilidh turning for generations. His tale moves back and forth through the family's years: Leo falling for Euna, a quick-witted young Englishwoman won over by the dances and the man calling them, a sharp-tongued granny, weddings and Hogmanays, and Ramsay finding a love of his own, while between scenes the audience is called up to dance.
