Hedwig and the Angry Inch

Hedwig and the Angry Inch is a rock musical by John Cameron Mitchell and Stephen Trask about Hedwig Robinson, a genderqueer East German singer fronting a fictional rock band. Set up as a confessional concert, the show traces Hedwig's life from her beginnings as Hansel in East Berlin, through a botched sex-change operation and a marriage to an American G.I., to the fallout that sends her across the world in search of love, identity and a place to belong.
