Book Laura Kirman, Meg Travers
Meat Cute is a comedy for two performers, written and performed by Laura Kirman and Meg Travers. Described by its makers as a platonic romantic comedy, it follows two women in their thirties through a series of meetings over the years, taking in divorce, babies and vegetarianism, as they cope with the pressure to have life sorted and the awkward and absurd sides of modern womanhood, with their friendship at the centre. The writers drew on their own friendship, formed while working on stage together, and made the piece with director Nancy Zamit and associate creative director Jess Mabel Jones, all Mischief Theatre alumni.
