Galileo

In Italy in the early seventeenth century, the mathematician Galileo Galilei turns his telescope on the night sky and finds proof that the Earth moves around the Sun. His discovery puts him at odds with a Church that teaches otherwise, and with old allies inside it, among them his friend Maffeo Barberini, a rising churchman, while his daughter Virginia tries to protect both her father and her own future.
