The Zoo

On a busy day at the zoo, the lovesick chemist Aesculapius Carboy is convinced he has poisoned his sweetheart Laetitia by muddling up a remedy, while her father, the grocer Mr Grinder, wants nothing to do with him. Nearby, a free-spending stranger called Thomas Brown is eating his way through the refreshment stall to win the heart of Eliza Smith, who runs it. Hidden identities and mischievous mix-ups follow.
