Jon Cryer is heading Off-Broadway as Vice Principal Douglas Panch.

The Two and a Half Men star joins The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee from May 11, stepping into the role of the dignified, dry-as-a-bone vice principal who runs the bee.

One of Off-Broadway's most-loved comic musicals — built around an audience-participation premise where four spellers from the crowd join the cast on stage each night — keeps cycling fresh names through Panch's chair. Cryer is the latest comic actor to take it.
